Courage, the National Thanksgiving Day Turkey that was pardoned by President Barack Obama on Nov. 25 in a White House ceremony, served as Honorary Grand Marshal in the Thanksgiving Day parade joined by Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and local volunteers at Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif., on Thursday.  Following the parade, Courage and his alternate, Carolina, found a cozy new home at Santa’s Reindeer Ranch in the Frontierland section of Disneyland, where park guests can visit them throughout the holiday season.  (Scott Brinegar/Disneyland)

The National Thanksgiving Turkey really has something to celebrate following today’s traditional ceremony with President Obama at the White House.  “Courage” and his alternate, “Carolina,” are going to Disneyland. On Thursday, Courage, a 20-week-old, 45-pound tom turkey, will be the honorary grand marshal in the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” Thanksgiving parade down Main Street, U.S.A. Following Thursday’s parade Courage and Carolina will find a home at Santa’s Reindeer Round-Up at Big Thunder Ranch in Frontierland, where they’ll remain throughout the holidays and the rest of their lives. Disneyland Celebrates Independence Day with Fireworks July 2-5

The Disneyland Resort has celebrated the glory of fireworks since 1957 with numerous spectacular shows.  The long-standing tradition continues with a star-spangled presentation for Independence Day, with Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky, July 2 through July 5. The “Magical” fireworks show returns July 6. In Florida, Walt Disney World Resort will also celebrate the holiday with fireworks and a special Naturalization ceremony on July 3, saluting 1,000 immigrants from more than 100 countries who will be “sworn in” as American Citizens.
