MAKING COLORFUL MUSIC -- The “World of Color” score was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London. In addition to the orchestra, the soundtrack features more than 100 voices – soloists and choir – and parts for guitar, drums and synthesizer. New characters from the soon-to-be-released Disney·Pixar film “Toy Story 3” will be added in late May to the ride-game attraction Toy Story Mania! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney’s California Adventure.  At “Rex and Trixie’s Dino Darts,” the new characters will invite riders to shoot their virtual darts at all-new balloon targets in a primeval world promising volcanic levels of excitement.

INSPIRING VOLUNTEERISM

INSPIRING VOLUNTEERISM -- Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy and Sweetums take part in  “Disney’s Honorary VoluntEars Cavalcade” at both Disneyland park in California and Magic Kingdom park in Florida. The cavalcade celebrates volunteerism. On March 9, 2010, it was announced that “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” – a first-of-its-kind program of Disney Parks –  reached its goal of inspiring 1 million people in 2010 to give back to their communities through volunteer service in the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada.  Since the program started just 10 weeks ago, on Jan. 1, a million people already have volunteered or committed to volunteer in their communities, according to Disney Parks and HandsOn Network, the nation’s largest volunteer network and a facilitator of “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day.”  Although the program has ended and a free Disney theme park ticket will no longer be provided, those still interested in volunteering may search for opportunities through HandsOn Network at www.HandsOnNetwork.org. FILLING UP — The water is rising in Paradise Bay at Disney’s California Adventure which has been dry for several months as Disney Imagineers installed nearly an acre of metal, wiring, nozzles and gadgets which will create “World of Color,” an exciting new nighttime water show that brings Disney animation to life with powerful fountains and amazing projection. The Disneyland Resort was recently honored with the state of California’s highest environmental award for its water conservation efforts. When emptying the lagoon, Disneyland worked with the Orange County Water District to send the water through its state-of-the-art Ground Water Replenishment System instead of releasing the water to the ocean through storm drains. After an extensive purification process, the water was stored in Orange County’s underground water basin and contributed to the County’s overall water reserves.
